Detroit Bar is a hot music venue in Costa Mesa, touts itself as being a “Silverlake-meets-OC style setting” on their website. I’ve been to plenty of bars and lounges in Silverlake and this is absolutely a fitting description.  The reason I am featuring Detroit Bar today is that they are doing NO COVER Monday’s in July… Which means today is your last chance to take advantage of that promotion. Of course, there are constantly great shows going on here and the cover isn’t more than $20 so if you can’t go today you’ll have plenty of opportunities in the future.

Checking out some of the reviews on their website lend more street cred to the popularity of Detroit Bar. For instance, LA Times gave it props as “A club for the hip in the 714.” Can’t argue with that! Also several people contacted me about featuring this venue and I love referrals!

You can go to their website and fill out a form for VIP treatment. In this case, that mean getting the inside scoop on “secret shows” and getting on the RSVP lists for some of their events.

Have you ever been? Who did you see or who would you like to see?

Please share your Costa Mesa photos so we can pick one to represent the page!
