Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Count your blessings everyone! On the day when we appreciate what we have it’s important to think about those in need. During the holidays there are always plenty of fundraisers and drives that need your help. Here’s a list of a few. If you are able please help and spread the word. Feel free to post other worthwhile local causes below or on the Facebook page as well.

1. Canned Food Drives

Katrina Foley (Newport Mesa School Board’s newest member) is collecting canned food through December 2 for the Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County. You can contact her on Facebook to donate (or contact me and I will let her know).

Torelli Realty will be collecting canned goods for Share Our Selves at their annual Snow Land event on Saturday, Dec. 11, 2010.

Coat Drive

Costa Mesa High School Cheer Team, Katrina Foley, and the Costa Mesa Police Department are collecting coats. If you have a new or gently used coat, jacket, or raincoat to donate, please bring it to the lobby of the police station by December 2.

Toys for Tots

The local fire departments are in the process of gathering tots for Toys for Tots. Torelli Realty will also be collecting toys for the program on Saturday, December 11, 2010.

Feel free to suggest other ideas on the 365 Things To Do In Costa Mesa Facebook page or by emailing hollyschwartzoc@gmail.com. Holly works with Torelli Realty.  Share your thoughts and enjoy Costa Mesa!
